2 Week Review August 30, 2008

I decided to head up north for the last couple of weeks, I returned home last night. There was a lot that happened, here is the review in bullets.

* Went to the Kindy Open House.

* Went to the Middle School Open House.

* Watched the Nieces & Nephews.

* We had a screaming contest.

* We also, played tea party, and got to be rude.

* Was told I need to have babies.

*The oldest Niece will watch my children, up to 3.

* Had lots of yummy veggies fresh from the garden.

* My grandpa fell and broke his hip.

* Spent lots of time at the hospital. (FYI – The St. C*loud hospital has an awesome emergency, surgery & recovery staff!) They were totally awesome! I still don’t ever want to see them again. But they took such good care of my grandpa.

* He is now on the waiting list to be moved to the hometown Nursing home.

* My mom gave me my great grandma’s mother’s ring.

It was really good to get out of town for a while. The good thing with this unemployment is, I was able to be there when I needed to be and didn’t have to worry about pissing off any employers or anything, and everything I need to do down here, I can do up there.

Made it back home, I was up north for the last couple of weeks. Hopefully things are going to start settling down and start loking up!

I have a possible interview next week. It would be for a job that would be about as perfect fit for me as I could hope. It sounds like it really caters to my strengths and from what I have researched, it sounds like a really awesome company to work for. Plus, for me, the good part, it’s a temp. position, with possible hire. It may only be a temp. position because of the department, but it sounds like most people temp. to hire. But if it’s just temp. too, that’s ok, because at least I will get my foot in the door and I would have the ability to be called back for projects over time.

Seriously Disturbed August 11, 2008

I was talking with one of my friends today about different campgrounds around the area, and how she was having problems finding one for Labor Day weekend. The only one she’s found so far with any open sites is a nekkid campground in the northern ‘burbs. What is disturbing about this, is I knew what she was talking about. Why, would I have that little random bit of knowledge?

Why, why, why? I have never been and probably will never go. I like clothes. I don’t really dig the thought of nekkid in public.

I guess the first page of the website they had a jump house, for all ages. That is just so wrong! But I guess it would make packing much easier, all you would need is good sunscreen and bug spray.

I Really, Really Tried August 9, 2008

I promise I did, but I could not get into the S*tephanie M*eyer books. I do not get them. I gave up.

Well, everyone is still alive and all limbs are intact. 2 nights to go. The Man Child and I made brownies tonight and The Teenage Daughter is working. It’s not too bad since they’re older and I don’t have to really do anything for them.

Are You Kidding Me August 7, 2008

So today I had to go to the library to make some copies, 12 to be exact. As I’m getting my stuff ready to copy suddenly my nose is accosted by the smell of OLD MAN. The conversation then proceeded to go like this:

Old Man: Are you gonna make copies?

Me: Yes

OM: Well I only got 1, so I’m just gonna go in front of you.

Me: I was speechless – ummm, ok. Ordinarily I would let someone go ahead of me, it’s the entitlement that pissed me off, so I was going to make him wait.

OM: Makes his copy, gets his change, notices it’s short .10 – I don’t think it was – he was just too stupid to know how to count. 3 quarters 1 nickel & a dime makes .90. So he proceeds to insert another dollar thinking that it’s a change machine (it’s not).

So while he’s then pounding on the machine to give him the change, all I can think to myself is, dude, if this fucker wasn’t so stinky and impatient and retarded, I would SO be done with my copies by now. In the meantime he’s kicking the machine and you know raising hell, NOT going to the help desk like anyone else would do, 3 librarians come over to see what the problem is. The problem, the money thing isn’t a change machine, so I had to make a copy and he got his money back, which by that point had escalated to almost $ 2.00. How, I’m not sure. But damnit if I wasn’t ready to kick him in the balls for being so fucking retarded.

I finally made my copies and oh yeah, the stuff I was copying was one of those things that’s not anyone’s business, I had to make copies of my taxes for something. So he starts reading over my shoulder and talking about them. I was pissed. If looks could kill old smelly man would’ve been dead.

That was my afternoon in a nutshell. I was gonna get a haircut too, but I decided after that, I shouldn’t because lord only knows what would have been in store for me.

My Weekend Plans Even Though It’s Only Thursday August 6, 2008

This weekend I am staying at Chez Cheeky to make sure the Teenage Daughter & Man Child don’t kill each other or burn the house down. While I am there, I will be reading the Twilight series. I’m looking forward to reading these. I don’t usually read a lot of books that generate a huge following. (I’ve never read the Harry Potter books or seen the movies.)
