Had my first accounting class tonight. What an interesting cast of characters. I was super overwhelmed at first when the instructor was going over the syllabus and it sounded insane at the amount of work we need to do to keep up, however, once we started in on things, it wasn’t so bad. I do know this stuff and I will rock this class.

On another note, there was a girl in my online classes who drove me nuts she is in this class too – turns out I KNOW HER!!!! She still drives me nuts, but it was kind of wild. I used to know one of her good friends and hang out with him the summer he was getting divorced, and haven’t seen him since then. We were talking about getting together for a couple of drinks or something. Could be interesting.

This Is Me, Getting My Butt Kicked October 7, 2009

Filed under: Are You Fucking Kidding Me — Bella @ 5:48 AM

One of my classes started last night, and I would drop it in a hot minute if it wasn’t a requirement for graduation. Seriously, first of all, the class is in a subject of which I know nothing about. We were discussing greek mythology and how apollo and backus (or something?) tie to art and then we analyzed pictures. Yeah, I don’t care about art overall, I think it’s beautiful. But I am not a creative person, the icing on the cake, we had to go around the room and discuss what art forms we work in, and what programs we have a good handle on. I was the only person who didn’t have any experience with anything, at.all. So as everyone’s looking at me like I’m the dipshit, I finally announced to the room, well, I may not be artistic or know anything about any of these programs, but I can organize your professional life, sell you an insurance policy (or explain it) and probably do your taxes without breaking a sweat.

So, yeah, this class will be a huge challenge for me since I will really have to learn how to think in a different way. At least my other class is Accounting, and I know that subject.

When having wine night, 1 bottle per person is the official limit. Not 3, with cocktails before and once the wine bottles are empty raiding the liquor cabinet.

Please keep one of my friends in your thoughts, she is having some scary complications with her pregnancy.

Meeting Update September 29, 2009

Filed under: Random & Useless Stuff — Bella @ 7:31 PM

It went well, the CFO and I are pretty much on the same page about things, which is a HUGE relief. We need to discuss the transition with my supervisor and prepare the other department for the transitions that will be hitting them. I don’t anticipate anything changing for another month or two at the soonest. We are still discussing the final job description as well as pay, which will hopefully make the additional pressure worth while. But, those who know my job, know I’ve been looking for something out of my department for a while, so this might be a good stepping point while I look for something else, and the tile will be AWESOME on the resume which should also help open doors for new employment.

Sometimes People Are Just So Disrespectful…. September 28, 2009

Filed under: I Like To Ramble — Bella @ 7:11 PM

So, today was a high holy day at work, and people just never cease to amaze me at their rudeness. There were signs posted for MONTHS that there would not be jeans today, we needed to dress up like we do for the rest of the week. I love my jeans as much as the next person, but come on, for over 1/2 of the staff to disregard the message is pretty rude.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, I am meeting with the CFO tomorrow to discuss the new position and me transitioning out of my crap job. And, the big fat raise.

Yet Another Stolen Meme From Daisy….Again…. September 27, 2009

Filed under: Totally Stolen Meme — Bella @ 7:47 PM

1. Which is worse: a long, boring meeting or standing in a return/exchange line after Christmas?

They are both horrible. More the meeting though, because they happen more than the return lines.

2. Except for maybe Rosie O’Donnell or Ann Coulter, nobody likes confrontation, yet we all have to deal with it. When you feel cornered and defensive, do you “bite back” or become passive aggressive?

It depends, some people I am passive aggressive, others, become dead to me. Seriously.

3. Do you know anything about your genealogical background? (What country, culture, ties to prominent historical figures, or other stuff.)

No clue, english just isn’t my first language though :)

4. What is the quickest way a person can endear him/herself to you?

Don’t be a dipshit.
5. Cake, pie, cookies, or ice cream? (Note there is no “all of the above” option. You must choose one.

Cookies!!!! I LOVE SUGAR!!!!
6. Females: Do you regularly change your handbag to coordinate with your outfit?

Very Rarely. If I think about it, but usually no.
7. Are you task-oriented or relationship-oriented?

Work, task orientated, personal life, relationship orientated.

8. IHOP, Bob Evans or Cracker Barrel?

Ihop, I guess. Never been to Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel.
9. Have you ever left a movie in progress in a theater? Why?

I don’t think so, probably been tempted before.
10. What is one area of life in which you would like to develop more discipline or organization?

I need to be more organized.

11. Was middle school fun or painful?

I hated it. Seriously.
12. What is your favorite Fall beverage?

Stoli, O Cran w/ Lime, oh wait, that’s any time! There are a couple of pumpkin / spice beers that are really good!

Promotion September 25, 2009

Filed under: Are You Fucking Kidding Me — Bella @ 6:03 AM

Not sure if it’s a good or bad thing, received a promotion, just not the one I have been wanting for the last few months. I am now (well in a couple of weeks or so) the new administrative assistant to the CFO. I don’t know how the numbers will look yet, but I pretty much told them unless it’s a substantial raise keep me where I am, as my job now consists of doing bank deposits and helping people find pencils. I’ll have more deets later, but I just had to do a fly by post.

Wrote It Like I Stole It….Or Something…. September 23, 2009

Filed under: Totally Stolen Meme — Bella @ 8:18 PM

I totally stole this one from Daisy, and I don’t even feel the least bit guilty!

1. Please share one middle school memory. It can be good, bad, ugly, funny. Pictures or words, I don’t care, just share.

When I met the boy, we were in 7th grade (I think) we met at a church lock in. He stole my heart right then and there. We ended up dating off and on for the next 10 years or so. He always has been, and always will be my first love.
2. What’s your favorite Beatles song?

The one about Eleanor Rigby, or else Let it be. Honestly, I’m not a HUGE Beatles fan, I like some of their stuff, but most of it, kind of over rated.

3. If I asked you to describe your most comfortable outfit, what would it be?

Not sure, jeans and a t shirt maybe? I’ve got a lot of comfy clothes.

4. Would you rather host a party or be a guest?

It depends, I like being a guest, and I like hosting. I also, am a little neurotic, so sometimes hosting is kinda stressful for m.
5. Do you think we will move completely from traditional books to digital ones, and if we do, are you OK with that?

I think like many things, it will be a transition that will take some time to get used to, but once used to it, I think we’ll wonder how we lived before we had them! I guess the one thing that I wonder, what will happen to libraries, and will we only be able to purchase books? If so, I guess I’m really not all about that idea, since I rarely buy books.

6. Do you learn best by reading, listening or experiencing?

A combination of all of them, totally depends on the content of what I am learning.

7. If you are (or when you were) single, what is the kiss of death for you concerning the opposite sex? (That is, what is one trait or behavior or habit or anything at all that immediately turns you off from considering that person a potential match for you?)

Dickishness. Yes, it’s a word :)

8. Snacks. Salty or sweet?

Both!
9. Look around you in a four foot radius. What object is around you that you didn’t realize was there or forgot was there? How long has it been there?

My cloth napkins, I have no idea. Obviously a while.

10. What is your favorite Tom Cruise movie?

Interview With A Vampire or Top Gun.

11. You buy a bottle of shampoo and discover that you don’t like what it does to your hair at all. What do you do with that full bottle?

See if anyone I know would be able to use it.

12. Your favorite Fall comfort food?

Not sure, but it’s gonna be carb loaded!
